It is sexy because it is rare! I have been thinking about this lately. Everyone is obsessed with traveling, eating gourmet food mostly to take pictures and post on social media. When something becomes too mainstream I develop ick to it, loses its value.
It’s now so mainstream to post about travel… although I love travelling and it is something I had always done since childhood and made it a life choice in adulthood.

This reminds me of the original legal conception of privacy from a 1890 article by two high-society Boston lawyers (Warren and Brandeis), who were concerned about gossip columns and paparazzi photographers. They defined privacy as 'the right to be let alone'. Deleted all of my posts on soc med esp on fb. Kept my accounts private. Unfriended a thousand of people on fb. Stop posting or sharing things on my socmeds. All of these happened when I was 18. Just last year, I finally deleted my IG, FB and X accounts. Just realized keeping my accts wasn't necessary at all knowing I get to learn stuff in various ways. And I don't feel like I belong to those socmeds.
Keeping my life private and being away from socmeds made me fully contented in life and genuinely appreciate things. Best decision I've ever made.
I also think privacy creates space for self-discovery. When we're not subconsciously imagining an audience, we're free to ask what we actually enjoy, believe, and value. Travel has taught me this repeatedly.... Some of my favorite memories aren't the ones I photographed or posted but instead they're the conversations, walks, and quiet moments that exist only in my memory :). Beautiful reminder that presence is often more powerful than visibility. 🌿

I genuinely loved the sport because of fast cars , but after the Monaco Grand Prix in 2026 it gained more popularity in such an icky way…
